Backpacking through Asia? A tour? Or just a holiday? Go to Sri Lanka! The island is not yet overrun by mass tourism like Bali, for example, and it is incredibly diverse. You have beautiful beaches, lush jungle, lots of wildlife, mountains, spice gardens and of course the famous tea plantations. And all that within a few hours of each other!
Where is Sri Lanka located?
Sri Lanka is located in the Indian Ocean, only 50 km from the south of India. You can fly there in 11 hours, if you have a direct flight of course. Due to its location near the equator, Sri Lanka has a tropical climate with temperatures around 30 degrees all year round.
